3 Steps to Stay Legal In California

This infographic explains the three essential steps for truck owners and fleet operators to stay compliant with California’s CARB Clean Truck Check program.

  1. Report your vehicle in CTC-VIS within 30 days of purchase, sale, or registration changes so CARB enforcement records remain accurate.

  2. Pay the annual compliance fee of about $31 per vehicle to remain in good standing. Fleets can process multiple vehicles at once, and assistance is available.

  3. Submit a passing emissions test—usually an OBD plug-in for newer trucks or an opacity test for older ones—according to the testing schedule (most every 6 months, some quarterly).

The bottom note highlights that Rollin VIN Verifiers can handle Step 3 for you and also guide you through Steps 1 and 2, making it easy to keep your fleet legal and compliant in California.
