Who Must Comply?

  • Diesel trucks over 14,000 lbs

  • Truck or Motorhomes operating in California

  • Out-of-state trucks that enter CA

OBD vs Opacity

  • OBD Testing = newer trucks 2013 & Newer Diesel Power or Alternative Fuel.

  • Opacity Testing is required for diesel-powered trucks that are 2012 model year or older. These vehicles are tested for visible smoke emissions instead of OBD testing.
